Hi hi hi! Hope everybody is doing well! Thanks for coming back and for another post!
Holy cow yall, I've been in China 3 months! Whooo! Time is seriously flying by!
I guess another good title for this post would be "Life Lately!"
Be prepared for LOTS of pictures and a few videos!😃
An assortment of pictures and videos from my different classes at Shenzhen 12! A big thank you to my lovely PA's for sending me all these pictures! 🙃
Something was apparently really funny! I love this group of 4 year olds!
Jacky needed a boost to trace the phonics letter on the boardErala didn't need a boost but struggles to only use one finger on the touch screen lol
Yuki needed a boost as well :)
Henry finding me a "bag"
Fly swatters come in handy while drilling vocabulary words!
Erala and William doing the Hello song with me!
More Hello song!
Small Stars C (6 year olds) doing phonics on the board--Wh sounds
Small star C placing story cards in order and reviewing vocabulary!
Gaga! One of the most adorable kids! Bringing me a vocab flashcard. Look at Grace and Marco laughing in the back.
I love this class too! So much energy and laughter! Even if William (1st boy with stripe sleeves) likes to throw flashcards at me.
Way to go Gaga! (blurry hand is for a high five lol)
Every now and then Loli, Amanda and I will go to dinner after work. We always have a great time, and laugh till we cant breathe anymore. If fun getting to know them and learning about local/Chinese customs from them and I think they feel the same about me and American customs.
I love me some Loli!
Just me :)
Fingers crossed that classes would be cancelled for the Typhoon.
And our reactions when we got the message that classes were CANCELLED for the next day!
I love me some Amanda!

On October 25 I took part in a teachers event that was offered by EF!
(Each month there are 3-4 events that we can "apply" for. We find out about 5 days in advance if we have been accepted to that event or not as they only take approx 30 teachers an event. These are usually free for teachers, but some times require a small fee)
This event took us to Da Peng- The Old City and the Yangmei Valley (about an hour from Shenzhen), to a "farm" to make our lunch, then cycling along the sea, and finally a little hike to some famous cliffs.
This pictures don't do the scenery and views justice. This is my new favorite place in China.
Da Peng- The old city. South gate entrance
The "palace"
Just a group of teachers being tourists 😉 And the map of the Old City Fortress
A street in the old city, and an artsy pic of the wall.
The wishing tree! You could donate some $$ write a wish/prayer and throw it into the tree.
Loli, Selene, me and Amanda waiting for the rest of the group before lunch.
The whole crew for the day, plus 2 wooden guards.
Just casually playing some Chinese checkers with my old friends.
When we pulled up to the "farm" we were divided into 3 teams. Each team was given a bucket of food and supplies. We had to come up with our meal all on our own. We had a fire to cook on (like old school camping) and cooking supplies. It was interesting but turned out to be a TON of fun! I made new friends and learned how to cook for more traditional Chinese style foods.
I made that whole plate of dumplings-- well I had help from Wendy who showed me how!
Me and my dumplings! Chopping away to make the pork in to "ground pork" for the dumplings.
Wendy and I working away on the dumplings. The guys telling us the fire has been started, and Emily chopping the Winter-melon.
Working away.
Our team all sitting down to eat the meal we made! 😊
Yall. Its been a longgggg time since I've ridden a bike. But I felt like an old pro!
Selene and I on a pit stop along the way.
Another pit stop! Look how beautiful it is here!
I mean! So gorgeous!!! 😍
Couldn't help but take a selfie. I'm pretty sure I was in my version of heaven.
The crew that completed the bike ride and short "hike" to the top of the cliffs.
Selene and I!
I seriously cant get over this view. I took wayyyyyy too many pictures and none of them even come close to capturing the true beauty!
The breeze, the smell of salt in the air, and the silence of nature was truly amazing!
Not sure why I'm doing a weird little squatty pose, but look how beautiful it is!
Another selfie- this time more of the "mountains" behind me... Mitch, Selene and I enjoying ourselves.
Sometimes you just have to be Queen of the Rock!
Our tour guide, Selene and myself on top of the rock!... At one point I climbed down a little to get closer to the water & Selene snapped this pic of me.
Mitch snapped this one of James, Selene and myself starting our bike ride back to the bus.
And then the tour guide sped ahead and snapped pics of everybody. I loved this one of me and Selene.

Hope everybody had a Spook-tacular Halloween! I know the staff and students at SZ12 sure did! Here are some pictures of the day and our party we held for the students that evening.

Alice (our cashier) was Cinderella
Rose (one of the PA's) was a Wicked Witch
Lisa was Mario from Mario and Luigi.

Just about every week I make the journey in to town (it takes about an hour from my apartment by metro) to meet with Selene, Elaine and Tomi. The 4 of us are usually up to no good, and we always have the best time! Our adventures also always involve food 😂 This last time we went for massages and Vietnamese food! Fun day with some amazing girls!
Selfie time in our sweet matching pjs at the spa!! And my Sweet and Sour Pork from dinner! So yummy!
Another update (a pretty major one in my opinion)- plans are coming together for my parents and brothers trip to China in December!! We have our transportation around china booked. And a HUGE thanks to my girl Wendy we will hopefully have our hotel accommodations booked in a few days too! I cant wait for my family to be here! We will be checking things off our bucket lists the whole time they are here!
Well I think that's it for now. I hope everybody enjoyed the pictures and this post. I always have a good time writing the post.
Adios for now!
Margaret❤️
PS. Chopstick update. slight progress but not much. I've learned the wooden chopsticks are easier (i.e. lighter weight) than the plastic or metal ones. I'm still practicing but wouldn't say i can use them just yet. 🍜
